Michelle Fleming

Michelle Fleming

Director

Michelle holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Actuarial Science and Pure Mathematics from the University of the Witwatersrand. After graduating, Michelle moved to London to pursue a career in finance. She was employed by Goldman Sachs International as a Management Information Systems Analyst, and was internally head hunted to join the Tactical Research Team in the Global Investment Research Department to develop mathematical models for equity trading.

Michelle returned to South Africa in 2007 and joined PriceWaterhouseCoopers as a financial analyst. She consulted to the senior management of clients such as Anglo American, Massmart Holdings and Auto & General Insurance.

Michelle decided to join the family business in 2008 as the financial manager and developer of the ERP system. Michelle was appointed Financial Director in 2009 after qualifying as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) from the CFA Institute, Virginia, USA. 

TIMOTHY BRAITHWAITE

TIMOTHY BRAITHWAITE

General Manager

Tim was appointed the new General Manager of PlastiColors at the end of 2020. After completing his BEng (Hons) in Environmental Engineering at the university of Pretoria in 2004, Tim has covered a range of roles, over several industries, from production & maintenance to HR & marketing. His enthusiasm & drive has seen him climb the corporate ladder to a very senior level in less than two decades. Tim further added to his management toolkit by successfully obtaining his MBA qualification a few years ago.

Tim’s career path has taken him from ArcelorMittal South Africa as a process control manager to Idwala Industrial Holdings as head of engineering and production of their Vereeniging plant; he then moved onto Idwala Industrial Holdings as national sales manager for the lime division. His role at PlastiColors will afford Tim further learning in manufacturing within the plastics industry.

Jamie Wilson

Jamie Wilson

National & Africa Sales Manager

Jamie has joined PlastiColors as their National and Africa Sales Manager in 2024.

Jamie’s sales career began over 20 years ago with Johnson & Johnson Medical, before moving into the role of marketing manager at the Zest WEG group gaining insight, not only locally, but also, into Africa’s marketplace. His passion for sales led him to his next opportunity as sales manager with Corporate Connections where he has spent the last 10 years. He brings with him years of invaluable experience, having worked in various sales and marketing roles across a wide range of industries, which now include plastics.

DAVID RULE

DAVID RULE

TECHNICAL SPECIALIST

David graduated with a B.Sc. Honours in Chemistry from London University in 1968. David started his career in the UK with invaluable experience in pigment development and production. He joined Styrochem in South Africa in 1970 as their Head Chemist, and was promoted to Technical Service Manager where he was involved with the manufacture and processing of polystyrenes.

In 1975 David moved to Mega Plastics as Technical Manager for the moulding division and eventually became Group Technical Manager for the Mega group of companies. He joined Dutton Plastics as General Technical Manager in 1989 and moved to Ferro Industrial Products as Divisional Manager in 1990. PlastiColors took over Ferro colour masterbatch in 1992 and Dave joined us as our General Manager, and subsequently as Director in 1997. In recent years David has taken on the role as Technical Specialist instilling his vast knowledge of the industry, innovations and products to the Technical team.

CAROLYN KELLOCK

CAROLYN KELLOCK

Technical Manager

Carolyn joined PlastiColors as their Technical Manager in 2017 after several years in the role of Territory Manager for Milliken & Company. Carolyn's studied her Bachelor of Science Honours in Chemistry as well as her National Polymer Technology Diploma and proudly received these both with Cum Laude. Carolyn’s previous work experience and roles have given her a wide exposure to the market base of PTFE, Engineering Polymers and Polyolefins and her wealth of knowledge has brought about some exciting challenges and opportunities to PlastiColors and its technical department.

Quintin Maine

Quintin Maine

Managing Director

Quintin has semi-retired from the business and leaves the day to day operations to his well assembled and complimentary team of leaders.

Quintin Maine matriculated 1965. He graduated in 1970 with a National Higher Diploma in Production Engineering from WITS Technikon, Johannesburg. He then went on to complete a Post Graduate in Metallurgy from WITS University. He subsequently accepted a position at GKN, manufacturing welding equipment. In 1975 he bought out the plastics piping manufacturing division of GKN and the very successful Plasticolors was born.

In 1992 he bought out the colour masterbatch division of Ferro Industrial Products.

He was awarded Business Person of the Year in 1994 by the South African Chamber of Business, and nominated Most Successful Past Graduate of all time from WITS Technikon in 1996. In 2003 he stepped back from day to day running of PlastiColors, allowing the team of PlastiColours to take on more responsibility.
